Melissa Chen (Lead Mentor)
Hi! My name is Melissa (she/her/hers) and I’m a rising senior in computer science with a minor in math. This summer, I’m a software engineering intern at Lyft. On campus, I have been really involved in student organizations in CS, including Women in CS, the CS Mental Health Committee, Girls Who Code, and a handful of ACM sub-organizations. I also have been involved in undergraduate research and in course staff for a core CS class. In my free time, I like to watch TV, play games, and hang out (virtually) with friends. I’m really excited to be a mentor for this year’s WIE orientation, and I can’t wait to see you in the fall!
Sadia Ahmed
Hello! My name is Sadia Ahmed, and I am going to be a senior in Computer Science. This summer, I am interning at State Farm, right here at Research Park, as a software developer. On campus, I was the director for Illinois Computer Science Sail, and led the first virtual rendition of the event. In my free time, I like to paint, I enjoy baking, and trying new restaurants on campus with my friends! I’m excited to get to know you all in August!
Nikitha Nagumalli
Hi! My name is Nikitha, and I am a Computer Science major pursuing a minor in Mathematics. I participate in the engineering sorority Alpha Omega Epsilon, Society of Women Engineers – Team Tech, and Women in Computer Science. This summer, I am interning at John Deere as a software engineer. In my free time, I enjoy amateur stargazing, reading, doing jigsaw puzzles, and doodling. I am so excited to meet all of you and be a WIE Mentor!
Ananya Rajagopal
Hey folks! I’m Ananya, and I’ll be a sophomore in Computer Science with a minor in Psychology. This summer, I’ll be interning at John Deere and I’m super excited to put what I’ve learned to practice! On campus, I’m involved with the Professional Liaison Committee of the Society of Women Engineers as well as Girls Who Code as a facilitator. In my free time, I love being outdoors, going on long drives and spending quality time with family and friends :)) I’m so excited to welcome y’all to the Illinois community! Hey! My name is Shreya, and I’m going to be a junior in Computer Science. This summer, I am working at William Blair in Downtown Chicago as a software engineering intern. I am excited to explore technology in the financial field. On campus, I am a Course Assistant for a brand new class called CS 128 as well as a committee chair for SITE. In my free time, I enjoy playing sports, working out, and exploring new places with my friends and family. I am looking forward to being a WIE mentor and helping you guys out this August!

Hi! I’m Kathy, and I’m going to be a senior in Computer Science. Here on campus, I’m involved in Women in Computer Science, Reflections|Projections, HackIllinois, and play in the non-competitive badminton club. In my free time, I love drawing, reading, watching anime, hanging out with friends, and going on runs. I’m excited to be a WIE Orientation mentor this year and to be able to meet everyone in August!
Devika Prasad
Hi! My name is Devika, and I’m going to be a junior majoring in Computer Science and minoring in the Hoeft Technology & Management program. This summer I am working at Apple as an Engineering Program Manager intern. In the past, I’ve worked at Research Park for Motorola Solutions as a Software Engineering Intern. On campus, I’m involved with Phi Chi Theta professional business fraternity and Engineering Council. I’m also a big fan of card games, and I like to play the guitar.
