After being an Engineering Undeclared student, I chose Materials Science and Engineering because it gave me the flexibility to work with many different areas of science and technology. I really enjoy learning about sustainability and clean energy, and I am excited to connect it to Materials Science. This semester, I was able to work with other students in MatSE through our Engineering Open House project. Our project will be showing Mechanically Stabilized Earth and where it is applied in our everyday lives. My favorite thing about Illinois is the welcoming students and faculty, and the passion that people have to learn and explore. In my free time, I enjoy traveling with my family and I hope to study abroad in Sweden with my cousin during my time at Illinois.
