I love Illinois’ Grainger College of Engineering because it is one of the best places to study electrical engineering and participate in world class research, while still pursuing my outside passions, such as minoring in Gender & Women’s Studies and being treasurer of our University’s student organization Women of Pride. There is a countless number of resources on campus, through the engineering college, other campus entities, and friends you make, who can help and inspire you throughout your engineering education. After undergrad, I plan on pursuing a PhD in electrical engineering, focusing on power electronics. I hope to work in a lab that stresses the importance of social justice work and increasing access to power in remote areas, being sure to work with communities to implement sustainable systems according to their needs.
