Additional Resources

Research

WIE is happy to help with informal mentoring, such as pairing new students with an upperclassman or connecting students with professionals.

Approximately half of our undergraduates do some type of research activity in the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign’s Grainger College of Engineering through a variety of programs, often beginning freshman year. Their work is vital to the College and helps answer society’s toughest questions. Many research professors offer course credit or a stipend for those participating in undergraduate research. Paid summer research positions are also available!

Programs such as Illinois Scholars Undergraduate Research Program (ISUR) especially encourage women and minorities to apply!
