Hey! My name is Niki Shah, and I’m currently a junior in mechanical engineering hailing from Acton, MA, a suburb right outside of Boston. What drew me to mechanical engineering was the flexibility of career opportunities. Coming into college, all I knew was that I was interested in physics and math, making engineering a sensible path to pursue, but was not sure what I wanted to look into after graduation. The Grainger College of Engineering has allowed for me to explore many different engineering applications and involve myself in unique RSOs to learn what different applications for my skillset. WIE specifically introduced me to a network of alumni who have helped me throughout the years and also helped me in making a community which feels like family when I’m so far from home. I currently am planning to pursue a career in consulting, with a focus on companies involved in renewable energy and sustainability efforts.
