Originally a transfer student, Monet truly found her passion at Illinois and continued to succeed after graduating. Now, she works for 3M as a Optimized Operations (O2) Engineer. In that role, she has lead projects to provide improvements of a filter product series, resulting in an approximate annual savings of $300,000.
During her time at Illinois, she shared the following:
Coming from a large and incredibly diverse environment, I was attracted to the diversity at Illinois. My passion for chemical sciences was initially sparked in high school when I had a chemistry teacher who showed fascinating demos related to the topics we were learning in class. I was amazed to see the theory I was learning about being applied right in front of me. One of the things that I love the most about ChBE at Illinois is that the department does a lot to ensure their students succeed by offering personalized academic advising.
