I am excited to become a WIE Ambassador because I want to make the transition from high school to college easier for the women about to attend The Grainger College of Engineering. Additionally, I want to represent my school and this program, for WIE has helped me a lot during my time on campus, and I want to give back to the program. I chose MechSE because I knew I wanted an occupation that helped people. When I first began exploring STEM, I started looking at occupations in the STEM field. It was then that I discovered prosthetics and knew immediately that was the field I wanted to pursue. When it came time to decide on a major, I saw how MechSE would teach me the skills I needed to design prosthetics, and that’s what ultimately inspired me to pursue my major.
