Bozena Bryja (Lead Mentor)

Hello! My name is Bozena Bryja and I am going to be a senior in Bioengineering this fall. My concentration is Biomechanics and I am also pursuing a minor in Business. On campus, I am heavily involved in the Society of Women Engineers (SWE) as well as being an ELA for ENG 101. In my free time, I enjoy working out, hiking, and reading. I am so excited to meet all of you during orientation this August!!

Anastasia Chemerisov

Hello! My name is Anastasia and I am going to be a Junior in Chemical Engineering. On campus, I am an officer in the Badminton For Fun club. In my free time, I like to crochet, bike, and bake. I’m so excited to be a WIE mentor this year and I can’t wait to meet all of you!

Ayesha Kazi

Hey guys! My name is Ayesha, and I’m going to be a junior in computer science and also minoring in math. This summer I am going to be interning at Northwestern Mutual as a Database Administrative intern in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. I’m really excited to be interning this summer in order to get my foot into the industry and gain some experience! On campus I am a part of SWE as well as an engineering sorority PSR. In my free time, I love to go out for a drive especially after being cooped up in my room all day due to the pandemic. I’m so excited to meet all of you during orientation and hopefully we can meet in person!

Serlina Ku

Hello! My name is Serlina Ku, I am an incoming sophomore pursuing a degree in Computer Science at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. On campus I am involved in a research group to expand on one of UIUC’s main modes of online instruction. Last semester I had the experience of implementing an eye-tracking feature to improve accessibility for people with disabilities. I am passionate about helping people and providing the tools they need to meet their potential. Professionally, I am interested in front-end web design, artificial intelligence, and am exploring more fields in CS. I am currently pursuing opportunities, programs, internships, and courses that will challenge me to hone my passions and improve my technical skills. 

Aisha Syed

Hi! I’m Aisha, and I’m going to be a Junior in Agricultural and Biological Engineering. I am also interested in pursuing a GIS minor. This summer, I am working as an Academic Hourly with faculty Dr. Ann-Perry Witmer analyzing data for the Contextual Engineering Research Group. On campus, I am involved as a contextual engineering undergraduate researcher. I’m also on the executive boards of WEF-AWWA and Engineers in Action Bridge Program. In my free time, I like to bake cookies, and adventure to find cool spots in the CU area. I’m super excited to be a WIE mentor, and I can’t wait to meet everyone!
