Angie Cheng (Lead Mentor)
Hello! My name is Angie and I’m going to be a senior in Math and CS with a minor in Statistics. This summer I’ll be interning at Amazon as a SWE intern remotely, but hoping to visit the office at least once! I’m heavily involved with student organizations on campus such as Reflections|Projections, MechMania, and Women in Computer Science. I also currently work with a couple professors on some fun research projects. In my free time I love playing golf, playing video games, hanging out with friends, sleeping, and eating. I’m excited to be a WIE mentor this year and I can’t wait to meet all of you in August!

This summer I will be a Software Engineering Intern at JPMorgan Chase. On campus, I am a course assistant for CS 233 and am involved with my engineering sorority, Alpha Omega Epsilon. In my free time I enjoy doing art, being outside, and watching movies. I am super excited to be a WIE mentor and meet all of you this Fall!
Hi everyone! My name is Riya, and I’m going to be a junior in Computer Science and Linguistics. On campus, I’ve been involved with Women In Computer Science (WCS), Pulse, SIGCHI, and UI Black Chorus. I’m interested in software engineering and product management. In my free time, I love singing, listening to music, photography, and playing tennis. I’ve had a great time exploring UIUC the past two years, and I can’t wait to meet you all in August 🙂
Hi all!! I’m Romina, a sophomore in CS + Advertising and from Santa Clara, CA. This summer, I’m working as an SQE intern at Amazon; my internship was hybrid (virtual + in-person), so feel free to ask me any questions about it!! At UIUC, I’m involved with Women in Computer Science (WCS), Association of Computing Machinery (ACM), and American Advertising Federation (AAF). In my free time, you’ll find me engaged in some physical fitness / creative leisure activity. I’m super excited to be a WIE mentor after attending WIE as a freshman last year, and I’m even more excited to meet all of you, answer any questions you may have, and make your transition to college as smooth-sailing as possible!
