I came to Illinois thinking I would concentrate in biomaterials and continue onto medical school upon graduation, but I soon realized that I am more drawn to manufacturing and processing. I’m so grateful that Illinois allows for such flexibility in my major and lets me explore my interests. I enjoy studying MatSE because it allows me to combine my interests in medicine and health with engineering in a wide breath of opportunities. On campus, I am involved in a 3D printing lab where I’ve learned about additive manufacturing, something that I find is not only fun and exciting, but also poses real-world solutions to problems we haven’t yet figured out how to solve.
