The vast applications bioengineering has in the medical industry drew me to this field. Watching my grandpa battle cancer after a late diagnosis has inspired me to work towards improving cancer diagnostics as it can help doctors detect cancer at an earlier stage and save more lives. At the intersection of engineering and medicine lies many possibilities, and I aspire to become an innovative problem solver who can contribute to advancing healthcare. Outside of class, I’m very grateful that I have the opportunity to continue piano in college through the Music Department even though I am a non-music major. Not only does this give me a change of pace from the rest of my schoolwork, but it allows me to further pursue one of my passions. In my free time, I enjoy swimming, running, and reading.
