Eugenia Maldonado

I’m a Junior in Systems Engineering & Design with a track in Data Analytics. I am originally from Caracas, Venezuela, and I moved to the U.S about 4 years ago. I’m involved in various activities on campus including the Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers, where I am the Internal Vice President, and CARE, where I serve as a tutor and peer mentor. Outside of Engineering, I am also involved in the School of Music, where I play cello in a String Quartet and also take lessons. After graduating, I would like to work in the field of Data Science within the Healthcare Industry and find ways to optimize healthcare delivery to have the biggest impact possible and reach everyone that needs it. Thanks to Illinois, I have had the opportunity to study engineering while also helping me keep my passions alive, which is why I’m so excited to be a WIE Ambassador and help students find their home in Illinois through programs like Illini Days and WIE Orientation!
