Ann Witmer

Illinois’ Civil and Environmental Engineering Department instructor Ann Witmer began her career in journalism and art history before returning to school to earn her CEE BS and MS degrees.

She earned her Bachelor’s from Illinois and graduated with honors. She is the first UIUC civil engineering major to earn the Harvey Jordan Award from the College of Engineering.

Witmer has helped create organizations that provide engineering assistance to communities in Central America and the Caribbean that need sustainable drinking water sources. She is now the faculty advisor for the Engineers Without Borders Illinois chapter.
