“How to feed the world in 2050” is arguably the biggest challenge of the century, and I want to be part of solving it! I’m particularly interested in urban farming. Localizing food production has a huge potential to decrease post-harvest loss, food waste, and the environmental impact of transporting food from farms to urban areas. I would love to design equipment for urban farms, like greenhouses and hydroponic systems. This summer I am looking forward to interning at an agriculture technology startup in the Bay Area. We are commercializing a sustainable oilseed crop, and I will be on a team to create a novel edible protein from the seed.
