Parisa Tabriz

There’s a reason why Parisa Tabriz calls herself the Browser Boss: she’s devoted to keeping browsing safe. In layman’s terms, she is an engineering director for Google. She famously called herself the Security Princess during a previous role at Google, before moving up to become the aforementioned Browser Boss.

Tabriz received her B.S. in Computer Science from Illinois in 2004 and her Master’s in 2006. She was hired as an information security engineer, or, as she puts it, a “hired hacker” at Google after graduation and worked her way up from there. Her career at Google has spanned several positions and more than ten years thus far in information security. In 2012 she was named a Forbes 30 under 30 for pioneers in technology.

“It’s become much more central to think about cybersecurity for critical infrastructure or national security,” Tabriz said. “The risk and the cost are so much higher today than they’ve ever been.”

Tabriz was also a speaker at the 2018 Blackhat security event series. Read her speaker bio here.
