Who WIE are

The Women in Engineering program (WIE) at the University of Illinois in Urbana-Champaign was established in 1993 as an effort to decrease the disparity in gender enrollment at the engineering departments. WIE’s focus on the University of Illinois campus is to support the recruitment, retention, encouragement and personal development of women studying engineering disciplines. WIE in collaboration with Outreach offers engineering summer camps for high school girls, orientation camps for all incoming freshman women engineering students, and customized professional development workshops including leadership training to provide personal skill development and career preparation for current students.
