I can’t wait to share my experiences with others so they can see if Illinois is a good fit. Freshman year, I was in Engineering Undeclared. I spent a semester learning about the different kind of majors, and electrical engineering piqued my interest because of its specialization in acoustics. As a musician, the mathematics behind the production and manipulation of sound seemed right up my alley. So far, I have really enjoyed the math and theory behind the classes I’ve taken. This semester I’ve started a project involving musical acoustics and my cello—I’m starting to come full circle! After graduation I would like to work in a research laboratory for a few years, then come back for a PhD.
