Women in STEM Week

Each year the WIE Advisory Board works together to organize a Women in STEM week to showcase some of the accomplishments of the amazing women on our campus and alumna of Illinois Engineering. This year the events will take place from January 22nd-25th, 2019.

Tuesday 1/22: Women in STEM Week Kick-Off Dinner

  • Join Women in Engineering and engineering RSOs for the opening night of STEM Week! Hear opening remarks about the week, enjoy dinner from Noodles and Company, and participate in activities lead by the RSOs for Women in Engineering.

Wednesday 1/23: Lightning Talks and Networking with Women@NCSA

  • Women@NCSA provides professional development and networking opportunities for employees, affiliates, and students. Hear from women in this organization as they share their experiences and wisdom while connecting you to professionals in the field. Coffee and refreshments will be provided.

Thursday 1/24: Workshop on Microaggressions

  • Engage in a workshop and panel discussion on how to best respond to microaggressions. This event will have panelists from the counseling center to provide insight on this topic.

Friday 1/25: SWE Happy Hour

  • Everyone is welcome to join SWE at a happy hour to celebrate the end of the week! Meet fellow women in engineering students and alumna in a relaxed and fun setting. There is no cost for this happy hour!
